My earliest memories are in my native Côte d'Ivoire, witnessing the growing cycles of the Cocoa groves. It’s in my DNA. In my early teens, I moved to Burkina Faso, in the semi-arid region below the Sahara. During the harmattan (winter) months, the hot breeze dried our skin and damaged our hair, so we used shea butter to moisturize our skin and protect our hair. It works amazingly well for both. Since that time, I have carried shea butter and cocoa butter in my purse wherever I go.

Working in the beauty industry in the United States, I learned that shea butter was a coveted ingredient in many products, yet neither manufacturers nor my clients were aware of the variety of uses and full potential of this wonderful extract. Sometimes you have a great treasure close to you but don't realize it. In Burkina Faso, shea butter is part of our lives. Mothers use it during pregnancy, but also on their newborns’ skins to protect them from skin rashes. From our early teens, we moisturize with it and use it to protect our hair.

For years I have wanted to create a line of products that would combine the marvelous attributes of Burkinabe shea butter with the rich cocoa butter from Côte d'Ivoire. I created the Thiyû Line to share this wonderful combination with you, I hope you will love it too.
